About

Guangxi University of Science and Technology (GXUST) was established in 1958, with 60 years of history.

 GXUST is located in the CBD of Liuzhou, an important industrial and tourist city with convenient transportation and supporting facilities in south west China.

 

Under the direct jurisdiction of the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, GXUST is a university with 2 teaching hospitals, offering programs in the nine disciplines: engineering management, science, medicine, economics, liberal arts, law, art, and pedagogy, with the major emphasis on engineering. The University has 3 campuses: Donghuanlu, Liuzhou and Liudong, covering-over 310 hectares of land. The university currently has over 25,000 full-time students as well as employing more than 1400 full-time faculty, It includes 20 schools, 19 research centres, 4 affiliated hospitals, offering 77 bachelor degree programs in total. In addition, the university has 3 master degree programs of first-level discipline, 21 master degree programs of second-level discipline, 2 professional master degree programs, and is currently applying for accreditation on three doctorate degrees.

 

Guangxi University of Science and Technology has committed to offer quality education. The University maintains close relations with the students and their parents, starting before admission to after graduation, At present, the university has enrolled students from U.S.A., Canada, U.K.. Ireland Germany, Japan, Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Pakistan, Russia Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Peru to study Chinese language and degree programs. Authorized by confusable Institute Head quarter (Handbag), GXUST is one of the online examination centres for HSK and HSKK and organizes the test several times each year for the students in and around Liuzhou.

2. Facilities:

Internet Access: Wi-Fi is available in most student dorms, and sometimes wired internet is provided.

Air Conditioning/Heating: Most dormitories are equipped with air conditioning and heating facilities to accommodate the seasonal changes in Wuhan.

Laundry Services: Laundry rooms with washing machines are available in or near the dormitory buildings.

Common Areas: Some dormitories have common lounges or study areas for students to relax and socialize.

Canteens/Cafeterias: There are canteens on-campus for students to get meals, including Chinese and sometimes international food options.

Security: 24/7 security service is available to ensure the safety of students.

 

3. Costs:

The accommodation costs can vary depending on the type of room. Generally, shared dormitory rooms are less expensive than single rooms. For international students, accommodation costs usually range from ¥600 to ¥1200 per month (approximately $90 to $180 USD) depending on the room type and facilities provided.

 

4. Eligibility and Application:

International students are generally guaranteed on-campus accommodation, provided they apply early.

Some students may choose to live off-campus in rented apartments if they prefer more privacy or space.

Undergraduate Students

· Age: 18 to 25

· Education: High school degree with good academic records

· Language Proficiency:

o Chinese Majors: Score 180/ HSK Level 5 or equivalent

o English Majors: TOEFL (80+) or IELTS (6.0+), unless exempt

· Documents: Passport, transcripts, personal statement, language certificates, physical examination form, funding sources, non-criminal record, etc.

Master's/Graduate Students

· Age: 18 to 40

· Education: Bachelor’s degree

· Language Proficiency:

o Chinese Majors: Score 180/HSK Level 5 or 4 depending on the discipline

o English Majors: TOEFL (80+) or IELTS (6.0+), unless exempt

· Documents: Passport, transcripts, letters of recommendation, study plan, physical examination form, etc.

Doctor's/PhD Degree

· Age: 18 to 45

· Education: Master’s degree

· Language Proficiency: Same requirements as Master's level

· Documents: Passport, transcripts, letters of recommendation, research plan, physical examination form, etc.

Chinese Language Program

· Age: 18 to 60

· Documents: Passport, highest degree certificate, funding sources, physical examination form, non-criminal record, etc.

Regular Non-degree Programs

· Age: 18 to 30

· Education: At least one year of undergraduate study

· Documents: Highest degree certificate, personal statement, letters of recommendation, language proficiency (if applicable), passport, non-criminal record, physical examination form.

Advanced Non-degree Programs

· Age: Under 40

· Education: Master’s degree or above

· Documents: Highest degree certificate, letters of recommendation, research plan, passport, non-criminal record, physical examination form.

Scholar Program

· Age: Under 50

· Education: Doctorate or associate professor position

· Documents: Highest degree certificate, letters of recommendation, research plan, passport, non-criminal record, physical examination form.
