About This Program

The master’s degree program in Environment Design at Central China Normal University is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to create functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. The curriculum begins with a thorough exploration of design principles and theory, where students gain an understanding of foundational concepts, historical contexts, and critical theories related to environmental design. Urban design is another key component, where students learn to plan and design urban spaces, including public areas, transportation systems, and community development initiatives.

A strong emphasis on sustainable design practices encourages students to explore environmentally responsible solutions and the use of sustainable materials throughout their projects. Students also develop proficiency in 3D modelling and visualization, acquiring skills in digital design tools that allow them to create compelling visual representations of their concepts. Training in research methods further enhances their ability to conduct thorough design research and better understand user needs.
